Je m’appelle Berthe Bovary

I’m (sorry, proud, ashamed, thrilled) to say that I am Madame Bovary’s Daughter. The one and only off spring
of what some called The World’s Worst Mother.  Well, I’m not here to whine or complain. I don’t want to trash my mother any more than she’s already been trashed. What I want to do is talk about my passion. No, not my sex life. My real passion which is (surprise, surprise) fashion. I am, after all, my mother’s daughter.  Literature’s first compulsive shopper taught me everything I know.  So Bovary’s Blog will mostly be about fashion—from Victorian to today.   I am a voice in the ethernet so I can talk about anything I damn well please, can’t I?  For instance, what was Nicole Kidman thinking when she chose that monstrosity for the Academy Awards?
But I think I get it. Wearing this disaster by Christian Dior’s John Galliano was a way of bringing even  more negative attention to the anti-Semitic designer. So, hooray for you, Nicole.
